Meet our handsome Buddy
Buddy is just full of personality and sweetness. He is very smart and learning good leash and house manners right now. We are using a behaviorist to help Buddy with his separation anxiety. He does fine being alone for short periods of time, A family that works form home would be best. If you have an impact crate, it works great for Buddy, but he should also do well in an airline crate. Toys Buddy loves them all and he doesn't destroy them. He prefers hard things to chew like Nyla bones and deer antlers and settles well inside doing this after outside exercise.
The ideal home
Buddy needs an active home with a daily regular routine of exercise. A physical fenced in safe yard only. Children 8 and up ok. The ideal home would be with a similar breed and sized do male or female. Please no senior dogs or toy breeds. This just would not be fair on them or Buddy. He needs to burn his energy daily rain or shine! Right now at his young age, running on dirt trails is ok for him, but no hard surfaces until he is at least 1 years old. He has had exposure to both swimming pools and ponds but Buddy doesn't really like to swim unless he wants to cool down. This leggy and agile boy would excel under the guidance of his new owner in sports like agility, fly ball, barn hunts or field trails. Long Hiking trips in the woods would be just up Buddy's alley. He loves car rides and going places. He did great meeting and greeting loads of people at our 12th anniversary rescue party.
Past History
Buddy's owners bought him at 8 weeks and loved him dearly, but his energy was too much for them and their physical abilities. We were happy to help this couple when we were asked. Buddy has such amazing potential to be a great loving family dog.
