Gunnar is super sweet and gentle and is eager to please his humans. He is a gorgeous field Brittany, and at 46lbs. of lean muscle, he is a sight to behold, whether he's running at full speed or just romping around the yard. He has a beautiful full tail and a classic Brittany physique, along with the famous Brittany energy to match his good looks! Gunnar thrives on constant companionship. He loves being with his people, wants to protect them, and be with them as much as possible, so very little away time would be best for this handsome fella.
Ideal Forever Family - Get Ready to Throw!Gunnar loves to show off his retrieving skills, and a large yard with a fully enclosed, physical fence would be best for Gunnar, so that he can safely run off-leash or play retrieving games with you -- you better get your throwing arm ready! He truly loves the outdoors and loves large dog parks, but should be carefully supervised when meeting new, unfamiliar dogs. A large fully fenced in, rural property would be ideal for him as he prefers being outside during the day (we told you he's a field Brittany, right?!?), especially if his people are away, because he likes to watch the gate and wait for his people to return when they go out for short trips. While inside with you, Gunnar is well-behaved and sleeps very well on a dog bed at night.
Intelligent, Well-Trained and Trustworthy CompanionGunnar runs and walks well using the easy walk harness, so he is an excellent running partner and a great companion for avid walkers! Gunnar had one owner who took good care of him before he was surrendered to our rescue. His owners came to us when they no longer had the means to care for him. Gunnar can't wait to be with new his forever family: A family who will have very little away time from him and has lots of secure, outside space to offer this sweet boy!
