Luke, Would You Slow Down So We Can Take a Photo, You Handsome Thing?!
This athletic boy is the epitome of classic Brittany traits: stamina, energy, prey drive, beauty and brains to spare! Luke just arrived a few days ago, and what we've noticed about him is his physicality and his love of life. He. Runs. All. Day. It's quite mesmerizing to watch him run -- really beautiful. He is also an Olympic swimmer and dock diver. He figured out the pool steps and the exit steps on the deep end in, like, a minute! He's a very strategic thinker. And his zest for life? -- He loves playing with other dogs. He loves playing retrieving games. He loves swimming. When he does actually stop, he's still moving, because he LOVES riding in cars. ;-)
Would Love to Be in a Multi-Dog Home
Luke definitely needs a secure, physical fenced-in yard so that he may safely run, frolic and play. He's a 43lb. trim and healthy beauty who would love to have a playful fur sister or brother of similar size and endurance. He never seems to stop, but he's obedient and comes when he is called inside to nap, eat, cuddle and sleep. Luke's well-behaved inside and is affectionate and respectful of boundaries set by you. He'd be a fantastic companion for an active, on-the-go family.
Luke's Past History
Luke was purchased as a 13 month-old from a hunt camp in GA. The man running the camp claimed he had no time to train him, and Luke lived in a kennel with other hunting dogs. His new owners brought him to FL and had him for 10 months. They taught him leash manners, crate training and house training. He was well-looked after, and his home had a safe, fenced-in yard and a pool to swim in every day. Due to recent medical issues of the owners, FBR was contacted for rehoming because they felt Luke deserved more attention than they had to give.
