Pretty Pumpkin
When you meet her you say wow look at that beautiful leggy girl! She is a lean 45lb athlete with a confident disposition. She is smart and knows basic commands, comes to her name and walks fine using the easy walk harness. Pumpkin sleeps in her crate quietly through the night, but we feel that she doesn't need a crate at all and can be trusted alone indoors. Outside she loves her backyard, and can stare up a tree watching squirrels for hours. Inside after exercise she is content to be your couch buddy or office buddy loves snuggle time with her people. She has smooth flat coat which provides for minimal grooming -- she is a wash-and-wear dog.
Getting to Know You
Pumpkin loves meeting new people who come and go from her foster home. She rides great in cars! Pumpkin is not a dog that wants to meet and greet new dogs everyday so we would prefer a home that doesn't go to dog parks everyday or at least goes on off peak hours only. She prefers her own pack and people and a regular routine. She would do well in a home as an only dog or with a male dog, either medium sized or large. She is good with senior dogs and young dogs but does not play with puppies..only runs with them.
Pumpkin's History and Case of Mistaken Identity
Pumpkin and her littermate Buttons were purchased by their owner as puppies. We have his meticulous vet records on them, so they were well looked after and loved. They were raised on an acreage property that was both safe and securely fenced. Sadly, the owner passed away this year. With no plans in place for their future care, a desperate family member took them to a Walmart parking lot and tried to give them away for free with their papers...a good Samaritan, seeing their beauty and gentle dispositions, agreed to take both of them into her home. It was a temporary fix so she reached out to English Springer Spaniel rescue for help who in turn reached out to FBR after realizing that the girls are 100% Brittanys.
