Opie is a beautiful, trim and athletic 35lbs. Brittany pup. He is a smart boy who comes to his name and sits for all his treats. He is agile and fast, and he took to swimming in his foster family's pond like a pro. He loves playing with all dogs, big and small. We believe he would do well in a home with another dog who is similar in age and breed, as he really wants to play, play, and play some more! Opie is fine with 4 hour sessions of crate time during the day and at night likes the security of his crate and is quiet through the night. He is now a very confident pup!
Great Nose Working BrittanyIt's been one month since arriving into our rescue and we see one confident obedient young puppy. He loves to pin squirrels up trees and chase birds. He had exposure to cats and he just wanted to play and chase them so we believe it would be best for Opie to go to a home with no cats. Opie loves the outdoors being with his people or other dogs. A physical fenced in yard is essential, his nose is strong and enjoys all the wildlife. He swims across the pond in pursuit of those dragonflies he can never seem to catch..but the pursuit sure wears him out!
HistoryOpie's owners bought him as an AKC purebred puppy. They soon found out training a puppy was a lot of work and they did not have the time. Also, they had to crate him for long periods of time and felt Opie deserved a better life with less alone time. He was loved and well cared for, and it shows he has great manners for a 10 month old Puppy!
