a New start for Oscar
Oscar is an adorable 25 lb almost fully grown French Brittany. He learned to sit and lay down in 2 minutes! His recall is perfect and comes to a whistle blast. He Loves the outdoors and pointing and chasing the birds and wildlife. He is an accomplished retriever, holds everything gently, and drops perfectly.
What we are Looking for
A family who will give him lots of attention and love will be exactly what Oscar needs. Car rides are fun for Oscar and he enjoys doing them safely in a crate. Trips to an off leash dog park or other fun activities like to your bank or tractor supply he is always up for! Another young & playful similar breed in the home is a MUST! Oscar loves to play and be around other dogs. They help wear him out and make him feel secure. Couch time is cuddle time as far as Oscar is concerned. He will find the tiniest spot to squeeze into and nuzzle his head right into your lap. He loves to be close to you. He currently sleeps in a crate quietly through the night..but if you allow dogs on your bed this would make for one very happy Oscar!
Oscar's Past
Oscar was found as a puppy living on the streets of Spain. The good people who rescued him said he was easy to catch as he loves the human touch. not afraid of humans. This lucky pup found his way onto our rescue partner Sporting Dog Rescue International and their team of volunteers in Spain. This wonderful group's mission is to bring dogs like Oscar to the USA for a better life. They paid for all his boarding, vetting and transportation. Oscar even has his own passport!
Working on a few things
Oscar loves his people so much that he worries if he's been left, so he sometimes barks when left alone. We have found that Oscar does better with alone time when he has the company of other dogs. Keep in mind, he also needs to be well exercised before alone time happens. Another young active dog with a similar hunt drive would make the best companion for Oscar! Please do not apply if you own cats as he was cat tested and it did not work out.
