Oakley is a handsome 6 year old Brittany boy with beautiful, deep orange and white roan markings.
He loves the outdoors and other nice dogs. He would make a great running partner.
Favorite activity is snuggling on the couch with his people and belly rubs.
Car Rides and Long WalksA smart boy that picks up rules and routines pretty easily.
He is most comfortable around the female Brittanys in his foster home. He doesn't like conflict, he is soft and gentle. He is a good office dog, he does not bark indoors unless other dogs provoke him.
He loves toys and playing chase with the young dogs at the rescue. Oakley is a great pack dog!
A physical fence is a must that is large enough for Oakley to stretch his long legs. One that is 5' or higher would be best.
Idiopathic EpilepsyOakley shortly after arriving had two mild seizures exactly 30 days a part, both falling on the Full Moon Cycle.
He started Zonisamide one of the mildest types of anti-seizure medications on April 28th and he hasn't had a seizure since starting the medication. Also, an inexpensive drug at under $15 per month for a twice a day dosage.
Oakley isn't at all special needs he is full of life and will live a full life as long as he remains on the medicine.
HistoryOakley had 2 homes prior to coming into our rescue.
The 2nd owner had him 2 years before surrendering him to Florida Brittany Rescue due to little time to spend with him, growing family and no fenced in yard for exercise.
He has a famous hunting dog in his lineage. Nolan's last bullet.
