Jax Facts!
Jax is all lovable, energetic puppy cuteness, learning how to play with respect, especially with the 8 year old female Brittany & the 17 year old little kitty in his foster home, who are teaching him bite control & to back off if he plays too roughly or gets too pushy. He picked up very quickly to sitting for his food & treats plus before going through a door. He is learning to wait outside the bathroom door. He craves being with his humans (soft voice preferable) & will play retrieve / give up a toy well as well as snuggling up nicely on the couch or bed. He wants to be the center of attention but listens when told to wait his turn.

Currently he can sleep 6-7 hours overnight in the crate next to his foster mom's bed, & will whine softly when he has to go potty. He is not a fan of the crate but goes in for a high quality treat like a little cheese or cold meat. Due to his puppy antics, he is currently crated when home alone and watched closely when he has free roam inside or outside to avoid any bad habits forming.

He will need to be on a good quality puppy food until he's about a year old & is currently eating half a cup of Fromme puppy food 4 times a day with supplements - he goes potty right after eating, sleeping & playing (normal for youngsters).

Leash walking is a work in progress, as he gets very excited & wants to sniff & explore everything. He can probably transition from a harness to a gentle leader soon. He loves squeaky toys, soft & rubber & will gather all the toys & crate blankets around him on the couch encouraging people to play with him. He has been well behaved & gentle around small children, obviously supervised to correct any jumping & enthusiastic behavior. Jax shares the water bowls with his Brittany pal & the cat & is fed next to the Britt with a baby gate between them to encourage him to eat at a normal pace. He has shown no signs of food / toy / treat aggression. He is currently barking at some “new” visitors to the house, with no aggression, which seems to be a puppy fear stage he is entering.

A puppy class is highly recommended {required}. He is fast & has no hesitation jumping the baby gate or springing up on a table to steal the cat food, so he might be a good candidate for agility!

Available Soon
Jax will be available after December 6th. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. The ideal home would be one with another well behaved adult Brittany, perferably a female. Jax needs to follow the lead of another canine, he also loves to play.
