Ginger is a sweet 35 lb girl.
She has lots of energy and loves the outdoors. She does great riding in cars and loves long walks and chasing lizards, birds and squirrels in her backyard.
We would like to see her given off leash time and have her own safe backyard.
She successfully completed heartworm treatment, she has now gone into heat, and we are waiting a few months beofre we wil spay her.
Foster mom's descriptionI have been lucky to foster Ginger while she was recovering from heartworm treatment on 7/31 and 8/1/24. Apart from a few miserable days early on, with a bit of vomiting from the medications not agreeing with her stomach, she was a trooper & her appetite is now back to normal.
She's a little shadow, always on the go following me around - as long as she has company, she is comfortable laying on the couch or a dog bed in the same room. She sleeps in a crate next to my bed with no problems, but during thunderstorms she cuddles right next to me on the couch or in my bed calmly after having a CBD chew, snuggled in a thundershirt.
When I go out, she is quite comfortable being alone with my 10 year old female Brittany & 7 year old female cat (beware, cat litter box is a major temptation).
Somebody spent time training this gem - she sits, lays down, waits, stays perfectly - she wants to dash out of doors to the outside so the stay & wait commands done diligently keep her safe with hand signals & leg blocking when she's too excited. She so wants to catch those pesky little lizards but alas is a bit like a bull in a China shop!
Ninety-five percent of the time, her recall is perfect (who can resist that possum on the fence?).
Ginger is a gentle soul, despite having taught my girl how to get the squeakers out of soft toys & spread the stuffing everywhere (only soft toys -no blankets, furniture, cushions etc), cheerful & full of energy.
She is the perfect companion dog.
HistoryWe know a lot about Ginger and that she is a littermate of another Brittany that was rescued by FBR.
She was sold on Craigslist in October 2022, to a man who was then transferred out of the country and needed to rehome her.
We were so happy we could help her.
She is such a great stoic little Brittany
