What Raider loves
Raider is just a gentlest sweetest soul, yes he has tons of Brittany energy but when he is exercised he is such an easy dog! Settles right into a dog bed and sleeps. He loves running off leash and does these amazing springs and leaps all 4 paws off the ground, and his expression is absolute joy! If your property isn't large then he would need regular daily trips to a dog park for some off leash running with his canine buddies. He loves car rides ..long ones too! he rides belted in with a harness and seat belt clip or snuggled up in a 36" crate.
Where he needs work
Like all Brittanys he pulls on leash,no one put the time into training him correctly. Here at FBRHQ we use a martingale collar and it works better for him than most harnesses. He will need a fit strong owner to help him learn leash manners. He loves sniffing the wildlife but he is not a hunting dog, he is fearful of loud noises, fireworks and firearms. He is the kind of dog that could go to work with you in your office or hang out in your home office and watch you work!
History
A young family with 5 young children decided to put a deposit on a litter born here in FL. Right after this happened things changed for the family and they knew it might not work bringing a puppy into the home with a newborn on the way, but they went through with the purchase. When the grandfather came to visit the young family he realized things were not going the way it should for puppy Raider, so offered to take him to live at his rural acreage property in NC. Raider had a smart canine brother to show him how things worked,a large Malinois and Raider and Meeko became best friends! This lasted for 3 years until his owner passed, and he had to come back to the young family. They reached out to FBR and asked for help in June 2024. He arrived with skin issues they tried hard to get under control, but again there was never enough time to give to this needy pup! An approved FBR applicant that really wanted a male his age adopted Raider after only 3 weeks in our rescue. She tried hard to make it work but as a single person and Raider as an only dog in the home he just wasn't getting the exercise he needed. This dog is a good boy and will be perfect for the right home! Don't wait to apply
